Lydia Prout, daughter of Todd and Tara, won the Voice of Democracy essay contest at the local level this fall. Her essay advanced to the district level. We are proud to announce that Lydia's essay was the top entry at the 6th District VFW. Lydia's essay advances to the State level, and everyone who has heard her essay is excited!
The Voice of Democracy is an annual nationwide scholarship program sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). It is an audio-essay contest for high school students in grades 9-12, which annually provides more than $2.3 million in scholarships.
