Our Melrose Area Speech Team competed at the State Meet on Friday, April 25, 2025 in Shakopee. Our speakers had a good day!
Ten of our twelve speakers advanced to finals, which was truly exciting! At awards, we learned we had two Individual State Champions, and four 2nd Place Finishers! Individual State Champions included Logan Schad in Creative, and Esther Kapsner in Ex. Reading!! Collectively, our Speech Team placed 2nd!
What a great day for the Dutchmen! We are so excited!

Drama: Lola Dusha - 8th Place
Ex. Reading: Esther Kapsner - State Champion & Emily Sand - 7th Place
Original Oratory: Lydia Prout - 4th Place
Poetry: Meadow Schaefer - 2nd Place
Storytelling: Jada Rausch - 2nd Place & Zoe Hoeschen - 3rd Place
