Congratulations to Isaiah Gilk and Avery Braegelmann - this year's Melrose Area High School recipients of the ExCEL Award. This award honors juniors throughout the state who participate in Minnesota High School League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.
Isaiah Gilk, son of Steve and Kathy Gilk, has been involved in Musical, Speech, Band, NHS, and Baseball. He is involved in Boy Scouts, and has completed his Eagle Scout Rank. Isaiah also volunteers for community projects.
Avery Braegelmann, daughter of Ryan and Lori Braegelmann, has been involved in Girls Basketball, Band, Golf, NHS, HOSA, and Girls Flag Football. She volunteers for her church and many school activities.
