Superintendent Update 10/19/2020

Although the number for this week was only a slight increase from last week there is the strong possibility we may go to distance learning very soon. Our number for this week was 35.58 as compared to 34.75 last week.  The only issue that may cause us not to go to distance learning is the very low incident rate we have had in our buildings. It has been very low for the past couple of weeks. However, as we continue to see the numbers increase drastically in the county we may go to distance learning as early as next week.

The projection for next week is for the number to increase to the mid-40’s. I will be meeting with our Regional Support team this week for a consult and I will receive some feedback from our teaching staff in terms of their perceived level of safety. Throughout this whole process of decision making, it has been a balancing act of what is educationally beneficial to our students and the safety of our students and staff.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me or any of the building principals.
