Stay Safe MN

Message from Kayla Ebnet, School Nurse

A few reminders: If your child is ill, please do not send them to school. Please refer to the decision tree from the Minnesota Department of Health regarding/Árbol de decisión para personas con COVID-19 en escuelas y programas para jóvenes y guarderías infantiles. Please remember that not all individuals experience a fever with COVID.

Even though middle school and high school are distance learning, we need to keep track of students on quarantine and those who have tested positive. Most students are distance learning, however there are instances where students come into the building for projects or tests. For the safety of everyone here we need to know if a student should not be in the building. Please continue to inform us regarding students experiencing symptoms, students who need to quarantine for being close contacts or students who test positive for COVID.

If one student in your family is experiencing symptoms or are being tested for COVID, all of your children need to remain at home. They need to quarantine until we receive a negative result or until the quarantine is complete.

A close contact is anyone who is within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes throughout the day. If you are exposed to anyone at school or outside of school, you need to quarantine for 14 days from your last exposure. You can return to school on the 15th day.

Please remember if your family is in isolation or quarantine, remain at home. Going to stores, restaurants or visiting family  should not be occurring during quarantine, stay home at all times during your quarantine. Seek out relatives or friends to bring needed supplies to your house. Even a short exposure could spread the virus to others. Please keep the safety of yourselves and others around you in mind.

Please contact me with questions or concerns.
