This year the Family and Consumer Science Department had the opportunity to add a new class to the course offerings. Students in Advanced Culinary Arts have had many engaging, hands-on learning opportunities throughout the semester.
As part of the course, students participated in a Take and Bake Pizza Sale. Students took orders and then prepared and packaged 60 homemade pizzas! Over the course of the project, students learned about food cost, effective product packaging, efficiency, and teamwork to complete a large task.
The class also prepared a variety of wraps that were available for staff purchase and will be wrapping up the year with a homemade cheesecake sale. All proceeds will be reinvested in supporting the FACS curriculum needs.
