We did not have a Stearns County Public Health meeting last week.  Our next scheduled meeting with Stearns County Public Health is scheduled for this Thursday (1/13).  We did have a meeting with officials from CentraCare last week.  As noted in this communication in the past, CentraCare and many health organizations are still overwhelmed because of the pandemic.  They are predicting a tsunami effect with the latest Omicron variant.  Anything that can be done to slow the spread of this latest variant would be very beneficial to our health organizations and for those needing health services not related to the pandemic.

At the annual School Board Organizational meeting last Monday there was another change made to the 2021-22 school calendar.  January 21 is now an Academic Recovery Day.  Principals and teachers will be working with students remotely on this day to get those students caught up that have fallen behind.  The workshop day for teachers that had been scheduled for January 21 has now been moved to January 24.

In brief:

January 21 Academic Recovery Day (Remote Learning) Look for info from Principals/Teachers

January 24 Teacher Workshop (No school)

No buses will run on January 21. Buses will run on January 24 only for the parochial schools.

Just a reminder as you plan forward, February 25, 2022, will be an E-Learning Day.

Also, please note a “draft” of the 2022-2023 school calendar has been posted on our website.  This draft can be found by going to the menu and noting it is listed under district information. We have made some subtle changes to the calendar.  If you have any questions or comments on the calendar please email me.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me or any of the building principals.
