The Section 8AA wrestling tournament was held at Melrose Schools over the weekend. Six Melrose-Sauk Centre wrestlers placed in the top 6, with 2 advancing to the STATE meet on Friday and Saturday.
Some wrestling highlights:
Jose De Los Santos placed second and advanced to the state tournament.
Lanna Walter finished second in the first-ever MN Girls Section Meet and will wrestle in the first MN sanctioned Wrestling State meet on Saturday.
Kevin Raya, the 4th seed coming into the tournament, upset the #1 seed in the semifinals on Friday night.
Mitchell Christian and Kevin earned 3rd place, Will Sjogren finished 4th and Dominic Kerzman finished 5th.
