The Melrose Speech Team competed in the Dassel-Cokato Charger Invitational on Saturday, March 19. We took 2nd place out of 29 teams, falling short by only a few points behind last year's state champions, Mounds Park Academy. There were 2 final rounds held - Finals (F) and Next-In Finals (NI). Honorable Mention awards were given to Caraline Braun for Great Speeches, Jamie Klasen for Info, and Talli Utsch for Prose. The tournament also had a Charger Award for a team member who works really hard, has a great attitude and helps 'charge' the team up. The recipient from Melrose was Jonathan Botello.
