The newly formed Middle School Student Council collected non-perishable items and money for the Melrose Area Food Shelf. This was the first activity sponsored by the council and it took two vehicles to haul all the goods! The council members are pictured with Candy Freeman from the Food Shelf and their advisors, Jean Sakry and Teresa Schad. Congratulations on a job well done to the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and staff!

The State swimmers are going to be escorted through Melrose around 6 pm tonight. Feel free to come out to Main Street to welcome them home! You can also welcome them home by the swim door (14) at school. Go Dutchmen!
Congratulations to the following Melrose swimmers for their success at the State Meet. Hallie Drossel is the MN State Champion in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with an All-American Consideration time of 1:03:64! Hallie also placed 8th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14:55. The 200 Medley Relay team of Makayla Zirbes, Hallie Drossel, Paige Gruber and Bella Nathe finished 12th with a time of 1:53.16. The 400 Free Relay of Jasmine Fleischhacker, Makayla Zirbes, Paige Gruber and Bella Nathe placed 15th with a time of 3:44:78. Awesome job!

Members of Leedstone and the Melrose Rosettes assisted the Food for Thought team in packing bags on November 17. Over 800 bags were packed and a good time was had by all. Food for Thought provides food for students on the weekends!
