Advanced Culinary Students cooked a fancy meal this week - Tacos de Lengua - or Beef Tongue Tacos! Our students made Salsa Verde and Corn Tortillas for their delicious meal. Beef Tongue can be purchased at Martinez, in Melrose. Special thanks for the donation of beef tongues!

On Monday, April 22, 2024, 34 sophomores and juniors were inducted into Melrose Area Schools' National Honor Society. NHS is one of the oldest, largest and most widely recognized co-curricular student organizations in American high schools. Students in grades 10-12, who are academically eligible may apply for membership in this organization. Congratulations to these fine students! Melrose FFA Update: Our Dairy Judging Team is top 5 in the state! Today we will find out their placing and who goes to Nationals! National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) is a yearly observance held in April, highlighting the importance of protecting children two years and younger from vaccine-preventable diseases. NIIW is April 22-29, 2024. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend children stay on track with their well-child appointments and routine vaccinations.

Students in Mr. Nietfeld's Planning Your Future Class had an opportunity to tour Wells Concrete in Albany recently. Did you know the Albany location of Wells Concrete includes a 185,000 sq ft manufacturing and office facility with 80+ acres of land? State Champions include: Drew Pundsack, Amelia Brower, Makayla Zirbes; Anessa Redepenning & Andrew Traeger finished 3rd; Ella Erdmann finished 5th; Logan Schad finished 6th, Teague Dusha & Brooke Ruoff finished 8th. Melrose Area Schools' Culinary 1 Students had the opportunity to satisfy their sugar cravings this week with layer cake! Mmm! Learning sure is fun!






We are so excited about our Speech Team! These winners are competing at the State Meet today, and we hope they are all 'locked in!' The first round was at 10:15, Round 2 is at 11:45, Round 3 is at 1:15, the Championship Round is at 3:30pm, and the awards ceremony is at 5:30pm. We are rooting for the Mighty, Mighty Dutchmen!
