Our Melrose Area Speech Team earned 1st Place in Detroit Lakes on Friday, February 13th! Competing on Friday was a fun change, which allowed our speakers to enjoy the long weekend! Congratulations to our individual champions: Emily Sand in Ex. Reading and Zoe Hoeschen in Storytelling! We are so proud of this team's hard work and dedication!

🏥💙 HOSA Mid-Winter Success! 💙🏥

Huge congratulations to Annabelle Lester for taking 1st out of 75+ competitors in Nursing Assisting and 13th out of 150+ in Medical Terminology at the HOSA Mid-Winter State Competition! She will advance to compete at the State Leadership Conference later this year.

👏 Abby Herkenhoff also had a strong showing, finishing in the top third in Medical Terminology.

HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) prepares students for careers in healthcare through competitive events and leadership development. This is our first year offering HOSA, made possible through partnership with CentraCare — and what a start as we are the smallest school competing!

Melrose Area Culinary 1 Students made English muffins with the sole purpose of flipping an egg in the pan for breakfast sandwiches. Students in this class begin with eggs, and will be regularly tossing food in the pan for the rest of the semester. Mr. Cozatt believes this is a skill all cooks should be able to perform!
