Melrose Area Elementary School is proud to recognize the 5th Grade for their L.E.A.D. Graduation, which was held March 22, 2024. L.E.A.D. stands for Law Enforcement Against Drugs, and is a national program, dedicated to creating safer, healthier communities, free of drugs, bullying and violence. Led by School Resource Officer, Paul Breth, 5th Grade Classes earned their certificates of completion. Additionally, students were able to showcase their talents, singing and playing their recorders under leadership of Tara Prout. Special thanks to 5th grade teachers Kyle Shaughnessy, Carolyn Moscho and Amanda Mackadanz. #DutchmenPride
Melrose Area Schools' Honor Band performed in a concert at St. Cloud State University, in the Ritchie Auditorium, on 3/22/24. The students had a great day, and the concert was a success! #DutchmenPride

ATV Safety Field Day Class - held in Sauk Centre - Sunday, May 5, 2024. This event is for all youth ages 10-15 years. Students must complete the online course to be eligible for this class. Congratulations to the Melrose Speech Team, who took First Place at their home meet on March 23, 2024! These winners hosted over 40 teams, and had more than 600 entries. Our four Champions include: Andrew Traeger, Amelia Brower, Autumn Oevermann, Drew Pundsack! Special shout-out to our triple finalists: Andrew, Drew, and Ella, and our double finalists: Autumn, Lydia, and Zoe. There will be a Practice/Meeting for JH Baseball, JH Softball, and JH Track on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 3pm. The coaches will go through rules, schedules, and other information. This meeting replaces the meeting that was originally scheduled for 3/25/24.
We will also continue to monitor the weather for any changes to the start of school tomorrow (3/26).

Melrose Area Elementary Students were thankful to have the chance to interact with Freddy, a therapy dog last week. Therapy dogs are trained to provide attention, affection, comfort and support to all kinds of people, not just their handlers. The smiles on these kids' faces show how much Freddy means to them.
