Melrose Area Public Schools is pleased to be the recipient of a weight room renovation, courtesy of The Adam Thielen Foundation! This overhaul of our space will bring state-of-the-art equipment to our school. Work in this space will begin in June. We are thrilled about this gift, and are excited to see Dutchmen gains! #DutchmenPride

Melrose High School Child Care Careers Class & Fashion Design Class were able to go on a double field trip yesterday! Our Child Care Careers Class visited Alex Tech, and toured the Early Childhood Program, while the Fashion Design Class explored a fabric shop and purchased material to sew pajama pants! Congratulations to our Dutchmen Speech Team, who competed at the Section Meet this past Saturday! This team claimed the title of Section Champions! We are so proud of this team! Individual Section Champions were: Logan Schad, Lydia Prout, and Ramona Lurken Tvrdik. Next up: State Speech Meet on April 25, 2025. Way to go, Dutchmen! #DutchmenPride

Melrose Area Schools welcomed our Knowledge Bowl Team State Champions home with a Pep Fest on Monday, April 14, 2025! Students in grades 3-12 were present as we honored our Champions. Mr. Hoyt talked about coaching Elementary and Middle School Knowledge Bowl, and remembered that this year's seniors were his first group of sixth graders. Mr. Leraas talked about our Dutchmen Team taking an early lead, and steadily enhancing the lead as the rounds progressed. Pictured in the second photo are the other MS/HS Knowledge Bowl Team Members. Mr. Leraas talked about how the rest of the team members helped our team to be their best. All students in grades 3-12 are encouraged to join our Dutchmen Activities! Our Knowledge Bowl Team is more than good, they are Champions. #DutchmenPride

Last week, Mr Walz took 26 students to the Construct Tomorrow program at the St Cloud Convention Center. Students were able to talk to young and experienced professionals about working in the trades. Twelve various trades were represented, simulating a real jobsite. At this career-focused event, students were able to get their hands on the tools of the trade, talk to diverse tradespeople, learn about wages and benefits, and discuss registered apprenticeships with industry professionals. It was a great day! #DutchmenPride

Natural burial returns the body to the earth without embalming or other practices intended to preserve the body. Melrose Area NHS hosted the annual Red Cross Blood Drive today! At this event, there were over 60 people who rolled up their sleeves and helped others. We are thankful for the Red Cross Staff, the students, and Melrose School Staff who were able to help out. Great job! #DutchmenPride
